Bergen | New York | Shanghai

While our planet is delineated into discrete territories and nations, the sky above is a shared, multilayered patchwork of history and culture. The sky has no regard for national borders and distinct identities, but is instead a collective dome - a loyal reminder of the boundless universe and limitless possibilities.

Himmelnord (Northern Sky) is an architecture studio founded with these values in mind. Three cities, 12,000 kilometers, and 11 time zones apart, we are united through a common canvas above - the northern celestial hemisphere.

The studio’s three partners bring together over 30 years of experience from the architecture field in Bergen, New York City, and Shanghai - where we have worked on several high-profile architecture projects. Our ambition is to leverage Scandinavian design sensibility in a global context.

Himmelnord is approved for the highest building quality class (Central Approval Class 3) by the Norwegian Building Authority for the company’s level of professionalism, expertise, and experience in the AEC industry. Himmenord is also included on the National Association of Norwegian Architects’ list of Wildcard offices.
